Borrowed from your library, or downloaded lately? Here's is what's new in my collection: Bought: The Nocturnals - Greatest Hits and More - A Vancouver band from the 60's. A nice package. It also includes a DVD as well with interviews and video footage of the band. Borrowed From The Library: Sloan - Never Hear The End Of It - Canadian power pop. Thirty songs on one disc! John Fogerty - Revival (his latest) John Fogerty - Deja Vu All Over Again I went and saw John's show this passed June (which was fantastic!) Download: ZZ Top - Rancho Texicano - The Very Best Of - Thanks to Adam's recent post on their Greatest Hits packages, this is now in my collection! The Kinks - Face To Face - Superb! Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead - I'm far from being a "Deadhead" lol but this along with "American Beauty" are the two albums I really like. Fountains of Wayne - Traffic and Weather - Love these guys! Foxboro Hot tubs - Stop Drop and Roll! - How's that for a group name! This is Green Day playing under a pseudonym. I don't mind a few Green Day songs but I'm not a huge fan. However this album is REALLY good. The songs sound like they could have been recorded in 1965 / '66 - a great garage band feel, plus it has a retro 60's looking cover as well!

Unfortunately, I can't remember them all (although, there hasn't been a WHOLE lot recently....), but here's what I DO remember:
Around the World in a Day-Prince Bon Jovi-Bon Jovi Essential-Toto 20th Century Masters-Night Ranger
Those are the main ones coming to mind. Hard to believe I had NO Night Ranger on disc!!

I haven't bought many CDs recently. I believe the last one was Melody Gardot's My One and Only Thrill, but that was a couple of months ago.
Not long ago, I found a download of Song's self-titled album. I had come across a track of theirs called Like We Were Before that sounded very Beatlesque, and I wanted to hear more from them. It's never been released on CD, but I found a needledrop of the LP someone had done.
I've been tempted to pick up the new remastered Emitt Rhodes set, but am not sure yet since I already have all the songs from other issues.

However I already own his self titled album on disc plus, The Merry Go Round disc - "Listen Listen: The Definitive Collection" and "Listen, Listen - The Best Of Emitt Rhodes." So the only reason I would really need to buy it is to have" Farewell To Paradise" on disc since only two tracks from that album are included on the "Best Of Emitt" collection.

I don't think I've ever seen the "Essential Toto" collection, I would imagine as with all the discs in that series, that it's pretty well complete - correct?

Ken, if you don't have Farewell to Paradise, I'd definitely recommend getting this collection for those songs. It's a little different from his other albums, more of a "darker" tone to it, but still very worthwhile. I really like the cover design they used for this collection: According to what I've read, a documentary was made about Emitt's life earlier this year. Hopefully it will be coming out soon - can't wait to see it!

I've also heard that about "Farewell" since I've always wanted to hear the rest of the album, I think I will pick up a copy of the collection when I see it. I heard about that documentary and I'm VERY interested in seeing it!

Money's been a bit tight lately. So haven't bought anything "new" since March. But I have purchased Queensryche's Greatest Hits and Pop Music: The Modern Era 1976-1999 used for a very reasonable price. The pop music comp is a double disc from Sony and contains hits by Boz Scaggs, the Jacksons, Herbie Hancock and Fiona Apple to name a few.

I had a chance to listen to it before I sold it and now wish I had kept it! Oh well, I'm always on the lookout for another copy. About that Doors CD - it's one of the "official" bootlegs released by the band, correct?

Ken, I don't know. The CD isn't one concert, but songs from various venues. I had virtually nothing live by the Doors, so when I saw this, I felt I needed it, just to add live Doors stuff to my collection. There's mention of "Bright Midnight Archives" on Ray Manzarek's website, but it doesn't specifically mention this CD. Truth be told, not sure I care about all the bootleg stuff. I do care that it was the Doors, live, I paid less than $9.00 for it, and it's a pretty cool CD.

I went on the cheap and got cutout copies of the "Billboard" Rock Hits CDs from 1970, '71 and '72. I also got the Carpenters box set (used) at a local Hastings.
