Here I am a week later, and I STILL don't know, LOL.
Any hints?

OK. The Glenn Frey song is the title cut from one of his albums.

Really--Soul searchin(g)? Never EVER heard it from LRB--at least it's not on any of their charting albums. Can't imagine LRB doing a song called "No fun allowed (aloud)" or "The all nighter".

"Soul Searching" is on LRB's "Monsoon" album. It wasn't a really huge album for them, but it's a good one. You're up, Dave! BTW, I did give a hint earlier when I said to "keep searching" for the correct answer!

All right:
Rita Coolidge The Who Clout

I'll make a guess on the first one: Rita Coolidge has a song (which I really like) called "You", which is a really common word, and I think I remember reading a review of a Who album that mentioned a song by that name.
Clout? Never heard of 'em. Will have to do more research...
*later* Found it on amazon.com: "Substitute".
Clout sounds like an interesting band. According to info on amazon.com, they were a female band from South Africa, late '70s to early '80s. The reviewers say they started out doing disco, then added a harder rock edge. (Not sure if you can download samples on the computer I'm using now, so I didn't try. This is my husband's new computer and I don't think he's too thrilled about me using it for a long period of time.)
So, Dave, have you heard Clout? In these games, I've been trying to pick stuff that I know--but I'm running out of ideas for stuff that's not too easy or too hard.

OK, I have it:
"Big River" (musical) Jude Cole Eric Clapton
(I don't remember ever hearing the Clapton one, but according to my sources, this appears on some of his solo albums as well as with one of the many bands he was in. If you need further help with the first one, the musical "Big River" was written by Roger Miller. Haven't seen it yet, but I love the music--I'm listening to it now!)

One of my fave Jude Cole songs, and one of Derek & the Dominoes' best (with Clapton)!
Tell the truth!
Am I right?

Tell the truth! Am I right? I am telling the truth--you are right! Now the 1st one? Anybody? (no hints in this post, so don't look for 'em)

Probably wrong, but I'll guess "Baby it's tonight".

Nope. Here's a hint: A hit by Journey had a very similar title.
