K, ;D, well at first glance it looked like a weaker list today, but upon thinking about it, it's actually a pretty good day! Kansas-When I worked in a record store in the mid 90's, I remember this guy came in one day and told me the story of when he bought the Kansas album in 1977. "I loved that song 'Dust In The Wind'", he said, "But then I got the album and the rest of it was horrible noise!" When I related this story to an older co-worker later that day, his response was "What's he talking about? They were some of the finest musicians out at the time!!" Somewhere, in the bottomless pit that is my record collection, I have The Best Of Kansas. I should look for it. KC & The Sunshine Band- One of the great disco groups, they were just fun and happy (why doesn't anybody smile like that anymore). They just looked so happy to be playing music. The "Big 3" #1's are burned out with me, too, but I LOVE Keep It Comin' Love and Sound Your Funky Horn! Chaka Khan-I liked her in Rufus better. "Ain't Nobody" is probably my fave. Greg Kihn-He was actually a THREE hit wonder. Nobody seems to remember his '85 hit "Lucky", but THAT'S the one that brings back the ol' 8th grade memories for me!! Probably in my 100 favorite songs of all time! Andy Kim-I'd like to pick up a collection of his hits, but I don't think there is a domestic CD. I've seen an import available but it's missing "How'd We Ever Get This Way". How dare they? Nothing has changed, really.... Still like a few songs by all of them, but not a lot by any of them....

Kansas- Just know their bigger hits. I like both Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind.I think they sound more pop than rock. KC and the Sunshine Band- I'm probably the only person in the world (well, at least at MC) who doesn't like this group. Their music is more like rap than like rock, IMO. I love rock, but it has to be melodic - more than just a beat. I'll admit its catchy, though. (I used to find myself muttering "That's The way uh-huh uh-huh" all the time when the songwas popular). Fave: for me, of course, it would be their only hit that doesn't fit to the general description -- Please Don't Go. Chaka Khan- I love Tell Me Something Good. That's about it. As for I Feel For You, I prefer hearing Homer Simpson rap to it, like I heard the other day. Greg Kihn- Jeopardy, which I give a C minus, is my fave. Andy Kim- Didn't care for his bubblegum interpretations of Baby I Love You, and Be My Baby, but liked Rock Me Gently, How'd We Ever Get This Way, and Shoot Em Up. But I LOVE a rather obscure song of his, called "I Wish" - although he kinda blew it at the end of the song by reverting to that bubblegum sound. Not a whole lot has changed for me either in 6+ years. I guess the only thing is, I might like Dust In the Wind even more.
