Yes it does! It brings us to the next artist! Melissa Etheridge recently did a Crossroads concert with Dolly Parton. Dolly's 9 to 5 was the subject of some confusion because it charted essentially simultaneously with Morning Train (Nine to Five) by Sheena Easton.

One of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' hits was 'Let's Hang On', later covered by Barry Manilow. Barry's first hit was "Mandy" which was written and originally sung by Scott English. Only in Scott's version, the girls name and song title was "Brandy"

Looking Glass was also a song sung by The Association. The Association had a song called Cherish, as did Kool in the Gang. (And Madonna for that matter-but let's stick with Kool)

Kool and the Gang was formed in New Jersey, as was Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi did a version of Living on a Prayer during the post 9/11 "America: A Tribute to Heroes". Opening that concert with "My City of Ruins" was another New Jerseyite, Bruce Springsteen.

Faith Hill recorded a cover of Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin. Janis' one solo top forty hit was Me and Bobby McGee, recorded two years earlier by Roger Miller.
