The Spoonful's John Sebastian and Zal Yanovsky were former members of the Mugwumps, along with Denny Doherty and Cass Elliott of the Mamas and the Papas. John Phillips of the M's & P's collaborated with Scott McKenzie. (Let's see what someone can come up with! ) Dawn-Was Sebastian part of the Mugwumps? I knew Zally, Denny and Cass were.

Aside from colloborating with John. Scott McKenzie also covered songs by another fine songwriter Tim Hardin who's Reason To Believe was done by Rod Stewart.

LOL And after working with Rod , Ronnie joined The Rolling Stones. The Stones, way before Ron joined them, recorded as Tears Go By, as did Mick Jagger's then girlfriend Marianne Faithful.

In 1997 Marianne Faithful put out an album that covered several tunes by composer Kurt Weill including "Mack The Knife" which was made a hit by .[glow=red,2,300]Bobby Darin[/glow]

Plant was once in Band of Joy which performed many covers, including You Better Run, which was later covered by Pat Benatar.

Reba recorded a version of Cathy's Clown , originally done by The Everly Brothers. The Everlys had another song called Ebony Eyes. A totally different song with the same titled was recorded by Bob Welch.

Before Bob Welch was a solo artist he was in a little band called Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood Mac's definitive (IMO) album was titled "Rumors", coincidently the same title that Johnny Crawford (who played Chuck Connors' son on The Rifleman) used for a hit single back in 1962 that peaked at #12.
