Another of Johnny's hits, Midnight Special, was later recorded by CCR. CCR had a strange statistic where they had 10 songs peaking within the Top 5 (Billboard Hot 100), yet never having a # 1 song. At one time another group seemed to be heading in the same direction, with 5 Top 5 hits, before their 6th made it to #1. The song that broke the "curse" was "I Want to Know What Love is", the group of course was Foreigner

Foreigner was signed to Atlantic Records, the label which released most of the classic hits of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Hey gang. We're ignoring this game even though we've restarted 4 others.
I can't do the link here because I did the last one.
This is our oldest game (Dawn started it in February 2004) and ranks 3rd all-time in number of responses to any post.
The last post was:
"The Mamas and Papas also covered Dedicated to the One I Love, a hit for The Shirelles.
The next person has to link The Shirelles to the artist of their choice.

Another of the Shirelles' hits, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, was co-written by Carole King. Carole had a very minor hit called "Oh Neil" that she wrote as an answer song to the #1 hit "Oh Carol" by Neil Sedaka.

One of Neil's biggest hits, Bad Blood, featured backing vocals by Elton John. Elton was one of the "Friends" (The others being Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight) who sang That's What Friends Are For" with Dionne Warwick.

The Jacksons were featured in their own cartoon series in the early '70s, as were the Osmonds.
